Why is it considered OK for London to be infested with seagulls? If people saw a Lion walking down the street they'd freak out. However, gulls miles away from where they should be seem to be OK. Even when they start every day with satan's own chorus.
On a practical note this is particularly bad near church street market, mainly due to ineffective street cleaning i'd wager 9 months ago via web

Been a bit busy the last couple of weeks, so thought I'd splash some cash on Pickfords full "pick & pack & unpack" service. They claim this means you just give them the keys. I did some boxing up (MummyV) wasn't having any different), but still left a bunch of books and kitchen stuff on the shelves. I told Pickfords to expect to pack about 90 boxes. All good, pretty expensive, but a weight off my mind. Left MummyV with the keys and went to work
Carnage ensued, they "team" turned up expecting 19 pre-packed boxes. They freaked out, and made my mother pack everything up in front of them. They then carried boxes out - three to a box.
End result, broken mother, no full packing service, absolutely no unpacking. Am currently waiting for a call back from their complaints team 10 months ago via web

no idea, when I heard about this on Radio4 this morning I thought they implied that the products sold in the US were different to those sold in the UK. They certainly stressed that there would be no recall in the UK.
I have a MacLaren Quest and I'm wondering what on earth the parents/children do to get in this (terrible) situation... short of trying to fold the pushchair before removing the child...? what am I missing? 10 months ago via web
it seems that they'll send out the fixing kit, to UK customers if they want it. Perhaps the US version had an additional jagged blade that needs covering 10 months ago via web

it says:
'Maclaren said the term recall had a different meaning in the US, and included modifications that could be made by customers to improve products.'
and
'The Northamptonshire-based company decided not to recall the products in the UK after consultation with trading standards officials.'
so, the pushchairs are the same in the US as the UK and my Quest, if I was in the US, would be subject to recall.
but it also says that as long as I keep the child away from the push chair whilst folding it (in the same way that I keep the child away from the car door when closing it) there is no risk of amputation.
Actually, I feel a little sorry for Maclaren, this is starting to sound a like a massive PR disaster due to people transferring personal responsibility onto an organisation. 10 months ago via web

I'm not seeing anything that suggests I can request & expect to receive a safety kit though, just more instructions on keeping my child away from the pushchair when folding.
