My Quiet Riots recent activity
Arrived at Kingston Hospital this morning for a dental appointment to be told that it had been canceled "weeks ago" and they apologised for the fact that they hadn't bothered to inform me. They blamed it on a "new system", which makes sense. But if it is a systemic fault, I wonder how many more people this has happened to, and how much revenue the economy has lost due to people taking days off work etc for non-existent appointments? 5 months ago via web
I've had two £150 charges. The most annoying thing is that deep down I know it's my fault (and I did sign the T&Cs afterall).
But £150 is stupid high, so I last week I closed my account. 6 months ago via web
the first capital connect 8.07am train from Sydenham Hill was a very welcome and popular addition to our schedule - prior to this to get anywhere other than Victoria we had to change at Herne Hill. Unfortunately in the past few months it has become so incredibly unreliable - I had hoped to catch it to St Pancras yesterday to get to a meeting on time. Cancelled. Not a soul on the platform was surprised because almost every day this train is either cancelled or severely delayed. You can then risk changing at Herne Hill after taking the Southeastern service to Victoria (which is marginally more reliable). I say risk, because there is every chance that *all* the First Capital Connect trains are either cancelled or so severely delayed that they don't even bother putting an estimated arrival time on the boards.
If this is *ever* explained it is always staff shortages.
this has been going on for months, it is a completely unacceptable level of service and needs to be sorted out. Just pay the people extra to work on Sunday. That seems entirely reasonable to me. (That's what this is all about, isn't it?) 7 months ago via web

Makes you wonder what was said to convince the jury that this unfortunate person was guilty. I think I would call the cops and ask them to collect this sort of item rather than turn up with a firearm and ammo at the nick. We can hope the sentence will reflect the true circumstances. 8 months ago via web

I know outsourcing is annoying too, but I would much rather speak to someone in India straight away than wait around for ages. It also creates more jobs since a company can usually afford to recruit more foreign workers. What do people think?

Even better would be if such companies had decent online systems for resolving problems. For example over the five years I have been with Tiscali my broadband has gone down a number of times (but generally been a decent service overall); every time I have to go through all the hoops with a customer service advisor whereas if they just sent a piece of software out with the router on sign-up which reported back an error code whenever a problem occured life would be so much simpler. 8 months ago via web
I can't stand automated voice menus. Especially when you're on the mobile and out in the street yelling. 'YES. BANK BALANCE. NO. YES. AAARRRGH.' Although a good tip: hit 0 enough times and you'll get through to an operator. 8 months ago via web

All part of the game isn't it? Or if it's not, the governing body would act wouldn't it? It's not like anyone's being defrauded or losing money or anything is it? 8 months ago via web
I've had agony over my gas bill so many times. Passed from pillar to post trying to get to the bottom of why there was problem with the handover from one gas provider to another.
Eventually we solved it and it took someone well trained to figure out what had happened and fix it immediately and apologise this hadn't been done earlier.
Hours of time wasted over a couple of weeks trying to sort this out. 8 months ago via web
