Where I went to secondary school many of the local residents of the area walk their dogs on the school playing fields. They also seemed to think that it was ok to use our long jump pit as a dog toilet... Its is also not fun accidentially running through it in the middle of a PE lesson, because you can't see it mixed in with muddly grass.
You wouldn't leave your dogs mess all over your own house, because its disgusting. Yet some dog owners obviously think that its ok to leave their dogs mess all over the place for everyone else to avoid stepping in. Cleaning it up is part of the responsibility of owning a pet. If you are out with your dog you take something with you to clean up after it. If you had a baby you wouldn't take it out without spare nappies. & I think this is a valid comparison as some owners treat their dogs as if thery were their own children. 8 months ago via web
To a smoker, the whole world is an ashtray. To some dog owners, the whole world is a dog bog. It's a matter of responsibility or rather a lack of it. There is never a need to drop any litter, whether this is smokers' rubbish, dog s**t or fast food containers. Unfortunately, the UK is full of inconsiderate people and the penalties for infringements are not properly enforced.. 8 months ago via web
The same reason cigarette smokers think it is OK to drop cigarette butts. Beats me. 8 months ago via web
People who let their dogs foul the pavements. It doesnt matter whether it is london or NY there seem to be a bunch of people who just let their dog go in the middle of the pavement. dont get me wrong I love animals and we all know that when they gotta go they gotta go but in the middle of the pavement? I guess councils could get better at fining people but most of all why cant these dog owners just behave like we all share the community and pavements and treat them with a bit of respect? Surely it is not that hard? 8 months ago via web

I think there's a pretty big different between dog fowling and dropping a cigarette. 8 months ago via web
I live in Hammersmith, in a residential area with lovely tree-lined streets, where people passing you on the road wish you a good morning and where tens of children walk to and from school each day. Why oh why must owners leave their dog's poo on the pavement? It utterly ruins the area and annoys me beyond belief. I just don't understand how such a lovely area has this disgusting problem. Something needs to be done about it urgently. I'm fed up of running the gauntlet when I'm walking home in the dim winter evenings. 8 months ago via web
I'm a dog owner (and yes, i clean up after my dog) but i also find it disgusting. I visited London recently and I noticed how much dog poo there was in the streets - even in the lovely areas you're talking about. It's something that takes 10 seconds to do - not a pleasant job but it's part of having a pet. I am also sick of one of my kids traipsing dog muck through the house - poo bags are free from most vets and council offices - there's no need for leaving it. Yuk! 8 months ago via web
That's hilarious - is dog fouling a problem at The Guardian? 8 months ago via web
There's dog poo on all the pavements that lead to Clissold Park
Name them and shame them I say. Let's have some CCTV and fine the buggers! 8 months ago via web
I don't know why, but I laughed.

Call dog mess "an environmental crime". It works with some people. 8 months ago via web
